The 2019/2020 season’s golden boot is still very much alive as Seria A reaches its final two fixtures.
Robert Lewandowski has the same tally as Ciro Immobile with the pair having scored 34 goals apiece. If they both finish the season with the same tally, then the player who has scored his haul of goals in fewer minutes will be awarded the top scorer and right now, that player is Lewandowski
The Pole has played 2,762 minutes this Bundesliga season while Immobile already racked up 2,995 minutes.
However, Immobile could still come out on top if he scores at least a goal in any of the two Seria A final fixtures, to move ahead of the Bayern Munich hitman.
Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo is lurking around in third place with 31 league goals to his name. He has played more minutes(2,890) than Lewandowski.
But Ronaldo has fewer minutes to his name than Immobile which means a tie on 35 goals or more between the two Seria A players would go in the former Real Madrid player’s favour.
With Lewandowski‘s exploit over, Immobile’s hunger and Ronaldo’s consistency. The 2019/2020 season golden boot race is surely going down to the wire.
