With Liverpool already Champions, and Manchester City sitting firmly in second, the battle for the number 3 spot has been exciting to watch. At least from a neutral fan’s point of view.

Leicester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have been going head on with one another since the restart of the season.

Leicester city’s dip in form has seen them relinquished 3rd place to Chelsea, albeit a point difference.

Chelsea’s fine form has made sure that they sit in third even after Saturday’s 3-0 loss to sheffied United.

Manchester United’s performances so far has been nothing short of excellence. The Red Devils were flying high, untill a 2-2 draw against Southampton on Monday evening.

With Manchester City’s UEFA ban overturned. The team to cement a third place over the insecure fourth, in the Premier League standing, is sure to have a safe passage to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

With just three fixtures left, Chelsea atop Leicester and United by a point, and the foxes sitting in fourth, levelled on points with fifth-placed United, the race for third place and top four is surely going to be decided on the final day.

Leicester, Chelsea and United dropped points in their last respective games; without any one of them consolidating their stand in the open third place. Maybe the number 3 seat is too hot to sit.
